Role: Residential Deputy Manager - Children's Home

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Salary: Base salary of £32,349.49, with the potential to earn up to £35,606.77 per annum with sleep-in shifts

Location: Carlisle

\n\n

Specific Hours: 42 hours per week - shift pattern on rotation

We are looking for a passionate and qualified Deputy Manager to join our dedicated team at our 4-bed home in Carlisle. \n\nYour Responsibilities:\n
    \n
  • Support the Registered Manager in ensuring the home meets its Statement of Purpose and delivers high-quality care.
  • \n
  • Maintain strong team communication and ensure policies and procedures are followed.
  • \n
  • Oversee care quality, staff training, development, and supervision.
  • \n
  • Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and regulatory standards.
  • \n
  • Monitor the condition and safety of the home, equipment, and furnishings.
  • \n
  • Assist with budgeting, financial oversight, and accurate record-keeping.
  • \n
  • Promote equality, diversity, and child protection throughout the home.
  • \n
  • Lead on quality assurance and continuous service improvement.
  • \n
  • Provide effective team leadership, supervision, and appraisals.
  • \n
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • \n
  • Support new staff through induction.
  • \n
\n\nWhat We’re Looking For:\n
    \n
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by young people in care.
  • \n
  • Level 3 Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • \n
  • Willingness to learn and work well within a small team.
  • \n
  • Ability to complete an enhanced DBS check (paid for by us).
  • \n
  • Experience in EBD, social care, residential work, or youth work (advantageous).
  • \n
  • Full, clean UK driving licence and ability to support other homes when needed.
  • \n
\n\nWorking Conditions & Benefits:\n

  • Shift Rotation: 2 days on, 2 days off, with staggered start times (8am, 12noon, or 2pm).

  • Sleep-in allowance of £62.50 per night (up to £3,257.28 extra per year).
