Groundworks Site Manager \n\nLocation: - Yorkshire and surrounding \n Start Date: ASAP\n Job Type: Full-Time\n Schedule: Monday to Friday\n\nWe are currently recruiting for an experienced Groundworks Site Manager to oversee commercial groundwork and civil engineering projects across the Yorjshire region. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and growing contractor delivering high-profile schemes for Tier 1 main contractors.\n\nThe successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial groundworks and civils, with proven experience managing teams, maintaining site safety standards, and delivering projects to programme and specification.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDay-to-day management and supervision of groundwork and civil engineering operations on site\nEnsuring all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with company and client procedures\nManaging site Health & Safety to a high standard, ensuring compliance with all regulations and site-specific requirements\nSupervising groundwork gangs and subcontractors, allocating daily work schedules and monitoring productivity\nCoordinating with site teams, engineers, and project managers to ensure smooth project delivery\nCompleting and reviewing RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements) and associated site documentation\nConducting toolbox talks, site briefings, and safety inspections\nMonitoring quality control and ensuring work is completed to specification\nOrdering materials and coordinating plant and labour requirements\nReporting progress, delays, and site issues to senior management \n\nProject Types\n\nYou will be involved in a range of commercial groundwork and civils projects, including:\n\nSection 278 works\nDistribution centres\nRetail developments\nHighways and infrastructure works\nFoundations and concrete works\nDeep drainage\nExternal works and associated civils packages \n\nCandidate Requirements\n\nPrevious experience working as a Groundworks Supervisor or Site Manager within commercial groundworks and civils\nStrong knowledge of groundwork operations, including drainage, foundations, roads, and external works\nExperience working with Tier 1 contractors and within strict Health & Safety environments\nAbility to manage multiple teams and maintain programme deadlines on busy sites\nExcellent communication and leadership skills\nGood organisational and paperwork skills, including RAMS completion and daily reporting\nStrong understanding of site compliance and quality procedures \n\nEssential Qualifications\n\nSSSTS or SMSTS\n\nFirst Aid at Work\n\nValid CSCS Card\n\nDesirable Qualifications\n\nNPROS qualification\n\nCPCS plant tickets\n\nTemporary Works knowledge/experience\n\nThis role offers long-term work opportunities for the right candidate with an established contractor operating across major commercial and infrastructure projects throughout the Yorkshire and surrounding areas\n\nFor more information or to apply, contact David at
