REED Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Manufacturing company.\n\n.Metallurgist\n\nMain Duties and Responsibilities\n\nLead projects to improve product quality and/or decrease cost (eg. Yield, Right First Time).\nInterface with customers on defining technical requirements and resolving customer problems.\nWork closely with operations to resolve internal technical problems.\nWorking with Operations to ensure all relevant documentation for current products are updated to the required standard.\nEstablish and monitor KPIs for key process operations.\nDevelopment and introduction of new products.\nOperate in line with the company's culture of quality and safety every day.\nMentor technical graduates and placements students as applicable.\nTravelling at home and abroad may be required to support customers and witness sub-contract activities.Skills, Experience & Qualification \n\nMinimum Requirements: \n\nBatchelor's Degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science or equivalent.\nA minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a relevant industrial environment with demonstrable experience within the aerospace, oil and gas or power generation sector.\nA solid understanding of the physical metallurgy of steel and nickel-based alloys.\nDemonstrable experience of OEM customer quality systems.\nKnowledge and application of improvement tools and techniques - RCCA, problem solving, error proofing, RAA, SPC.\nA flexible approach to working hours is occasionally required to support onsite customer visits and quality audits.THE POSITION ALSO INVOLVES A BONUS OF UP TO 15% CIRCA £5K TO £7K ON TOP OF THE SALARY
